Michel Iannacone, our first team goalkeeping coach, spoke after winning the CAF Super title tonight against Morocco’s Raja CA.
“Tonight’s game was very tough, and Raja CA were lucky to score their goal at the beginning of the match.”
“After conceding the goal, we pushed forward to equalize the score. We had a good spirit in the team and we believed in ourselves until we scored at the end of the game. It was fantastic because we put on a great effort during the encounter and we deserved this victory.”
Iannacone also commented on Amr El Soulia’s injury, which he picked up before the beginning of the game.
“Everyone was surprised. It was bad luck for him especially he picked up the injury at the beginning of the match. I am so sorry for him, but this is life and this can happen to anyone.”
Our goalkeeping coach also praised Mohamed El Shenawy, our shot-stopper, for his great performance tonight.
“I trust Mohamed El Shenawy a lot and he put on a great performance during tonight’s game,”
Iannacone concluded his statements by thanking Al Ahly fans for their great support and describing them as the team’s twelfth player.
